‘Arlington Park’ (2006)

Rachel Cusk’s Arlington Park begins with rain, and more rain. And when the rain stops, we get the frustrations of motherhood, middle-classdom, and being a wife. Depression, rain, and annoying kids.

There is something profoundly Warholian about Rachel Cusk. It’s present in Arlington Park, but it really comes to fruition in The Outline — the forensic matter-of-factness of the detached observer.
